The River Walk brings a community and tourism together along the San Antonio River for entertainment, the arts, dining and scenic jogs.
Restaurants and Bars
Dominating the River Walk is outdoor seating for patrons at every restaurant and bar. Enjoy the touristy icons of Dicks and Hard Rock Cafe, or be entertained at the Dueling Piano Bar or The Landing Jazz Bar.
Architecture
San Antonio buildings represent many different old styles, weighing heavily on the Spanish Colonial style. Examine the old hotels, missions and breweries.

I’ve wanted to go to the Alamo ever since I saw the movie “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure” in the 80s!
Hah! Glen, that is the definitely The Alamo and it’s impact on Pop Culture. Everyone asks, where is the basement? Actually, they told us there is a small basement under the gift shop. Not sure if that counts.
Great pictures! The last one reminded me of Melaka in Malaysia, with all the colorful lights on the carriage!
There are carriages all Old City Philadelphia too, but I think they need to take note of the colorful lighted ones in San Antonio. I loved the lights.
Some excellent photos, I never pictured San Antonio like that, but very nice. And how cool you get to go during the 175th anniversary of the Alamo. I especially love the photos of the cannon and the prison cell, well done.
Thanks for taking a look Pete. It was a photo friendly city, especially with the famous River Walk. It’s nice to see something different. And a city built around a river like this, was definitely different.
I’ve never thought of San Antonio as a cool place to visit but your pictures make me want to go!
It’s a wonderful place to visit. This trip has inspired to us to get out and explore the United States.

Wow great pictures Jason! I never thought of Texas as a travel destination until viewing this post. Really makes you realize you could be missing out on a lot.
It’s definitely a travel destination. I have been to Dallas, but it doesn’t compare with San Antonio or Austin. They are both really fun small cities with a great relaxed and artistic atmosphere.
My dad comes from San Antonio. I am a TEXAS girl at heart. YEEE HAAA. Amazing pictures Jason
Looks like you enjoyed Texas. We’re camped out here for a couple of months after finishing a 30,000 mile RV trip around the states (with four kids in tow).
