In October of 2024 Aracely and Jason went backpacking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. They both loved their experience.

It was their first backpacking trip and an unforgettable one at that. The expedition was as physically challenging as it was rewarding. They met great people and saw amazing sights. A few highlights of their trip included: sleeping in 17 degree weather, hiking for over 8 hours a day with heavy backpacks, learning the rich history of the Grand Canyon’s formation, and not showering for 5 days straight.

Fast forward to 2024. The past two and a half years have been filled with episodes of new experiences from sky diving, bungee jumping, and hang gliding to scuba diving, whitewater rafting, travel abroad, and many others. Their daily lives as corporate professionals easily became just the “in between space” of the lives they truly desire to live.

On March 29, 2024, in a casual conversation, (as casual as the one that placed them next to the Colorado River that fall in 2024), they stumbled onto the idea of dropping everything and go traveling—correction, go backpacking. They both grinned at the thought of this being a feasible adventure.

“Why not?” they each asked the other. Neither of them could come up with a good reason (or worthy excuse) not to. They both knew this would be their next adventure.

But, of course, things are much easier said than done. The excitement of the conversation settled and reality began to tear its way in. Now they actually have to plan this.
