Volcano Santa Ana is located about and hour and half by bus outside the city of Santa Ana in El Salvador. You can trek the volcano with a guide only. During the trek the vegetation changes a lot. It starts out very lush and green and gradually changes as you ascend to the top of the volcano where you can see an impressive green crater lake. This Giant Maguey plants can been around the mid point of the trek and they are everywhere. Some larger than others. They were beautiful. Click on the picture below to see more photos of our trek.
