This photo of a Sand Mandala from the San Antonio Museum of Art was created by Tibetan Buddhist and given to the museum by a donor. It’s amazing to see the scope of such a delicate project up close. The grains of sand are almost too small to identify, yet they are created with each grain of sand in mind.
The Museum conducts more than 500 guided tours annually and provides approximately 200 educational programs each year.

Beautiful! Can’t imagine how long it would take to create something so intricate like that using sand.
They work non-stop in shifts, but I can’t remember how long it took. According to Wikipedia, it usually takes several weeks.
Just one word this time…WOW!
I have the same picture!!! This was my favorite piece in the museum. My Mom and I couldn’t stop ooohing and awing over it!
Yea, it’s amazing to think that they built this sand grain by sand grain. It’s awesome!
