Hi, Yes it is going up to JD90 if you are only visiting Jordan for one day. Again its definitely worth it to stay overnight – you can also check out Petra by Night on one of the nghts its offered. If you take a look at my travel blog – I talk about it in more detail.

I thought I’d also just add that the entrance fee for Petra just went up as of November 1st. I’m currently in Syria and just met some travelers who said the new fee is about $130 US for a one-day pass. So now it’s even more important to follow your tips in order to save money where money can be saved!

Jaimie – thanks for your complement – I always try to help others save on their travels. Like I said in the post, take your time in Petra. It is such an amazing place and Jordan an amazing country. Very untouched and I found the Jordanians to be really lovely people.

I agree, Petra is an amazing place and I had such a great time there! It’s definitely a bit pricey in terms of budget traveling, so thanks for posting this. Just wish it was before I had already gone, but maybe the next time, I’ll be able to put your advice in practice!
